It begins 1938 . Firstly , this baby box only for low income families , but from 1949, the government improve : offer this baby box to all Mother-to-be,and announced new regulation: who want to get this baby box or cash, mothers must go to local hospital for checking at the baby's fourth month. Mothers can choose one from baby box & cashes (Euro 140),but 95% mothers choosed baby box ,because this box may be more signigicative--it is the first gift they give to their baby, and maybe it can be the first bed for their new baby.

“婴儿箱”里还有图画书、玩具，甚至哺乳胸垫；
甚至还附上保险套与润滑剂以及夫妻产后关系辅导手册，以提醒新父母们先照顾好这个婴儿，暂时不要“添丁进口”；
最为特别的是宝宝箱中还有一张海绵小床垫，垫在大纸箱中，正好可以给宝宝当人生中的第一张床。
在准妈妈们完全不知道应该买些什么东西时，产科包却早已经为她们准备齐全了，这绝对是最贴心的礼物。
降低婴儿死亡率
20世纪30年代的芬兰还是一个贫困的国家，婴儿死亡率非常高——每1000个婴儿当中就有65个会死亡。但是在接下来的日子里，芬兰的婴儿死亡率开始大幅下降，产科包的发放可以说是功不可没。
芬兰政府发放产科包后，婴儿死亡率开始大幅下降。
直到今天，芬兰成为世界上婴儿死亡率最低的国家之一。
